I’m going to be 100% honest with you here lol… I actually only recently got into nail art (3 months ago). I had never even owned a pot of nail varnish until then.
The false nails and nail glue I buy from Ebay in bulk. They’re probably not the best quality, but they’re still pretty decent :)
I always put a top coat on my false nails, and I find that the colour lasts just as long, if not longer, than when they’re painted onto real nails.
I do have a couple of sets of false nails that I re-wear. I carefully peel them off and try to file down as much of the dried nail glue as possible. I wouldn’t use nail polish remover as you’re likely to ruin your design and the glue is too tough for it. My tip is to use as little nail glue as possible when you first put them on, as it’ll make it easier to take off at a later date ;)
